I am writing to share a brief update on the ministry and vision of Samukawa Christ Church, located in the heart of Samukawa, Kanagawa Prefecture.

As a church, we strive to be a multi-generational community that is deeply rooted in and open to our local neighborhood. We believe that the church should be a place of warmth and hope for everyone, and God has been opening many doors for us to serve.

Our Community Ministry: Okada Kohitsuji Cafe
One of our most heart-moving ministries is the Okada Kohitsuji Cafe, our KODOMOSYOKUDOU. 

Since its launch, we have been providing nutritious meals and a safe community space for elementary school children in the Okada area. It is more than just a meal; it is a place where children feel loved and supported by the church family and the people i regional community.
 

Seeking an English Teacher (Prayer Request)
We have a deep desire to further serve our local residents including young generation by offering English classes continually at the church.
Our cooperative missionary from US went back last October 2025. We believe this is a wonderful way to build bridges with our neighbors.
We are currently praying for an evangelical teacher—someone who not only has a passion for teaching English
but also shares our heart for the Gospel. We are looking for a teacher who can connect with people naturally and reflect the love of Christ through their teaching.
Please join us in praying that God would lead the right person to our community.

Vision for International Worship
Furthermore, we are praying fervently for the development of our International Worship services. Just started the first Praise Service on the 15th Feb, 2026. 
Our vision is to become a house of prayer for all nations, where people from different cultural backgrounds can gather to worship together in unity.
We ask for your prayers that the Holy Spirit would guide us in creating a welcoming and spiritually vibrant environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
